Yeah, I can guess that this discussion has come up before.
I did search and people say that if you 'put the thingie on the little notchy thingie a certain way it holds the cap there'. This doesn't work well for me and has caused the cap to go dangling hanging up against the car on numerous occasions.
Is there a service bulletin or a 'fix' that the dealers have for this car? I know for my RSX they changed or added a 'piece' for the cap to stick to. This only happened if the driver brought in the car and complained.
Thanks for the assistance.

No TSB on this and I have not seen many posts about it. Spend $1.00 and do what I did. Even with the note the people pumping the gas ( New Jersey doesn't have self serve) only use the hook 70% of the time. You can't win them all
Ok, here's what I do. It's real simple, just rember to line either end of the cap ridge to the tab and swing down and forward until it clicks. Try it, it works.

i sandwich it inbetween the pump handle and the body of the car inside the fuel door so that if anything does happen, it will be nicely concealed once the fuel door is closed.
although i do wedge it in the "trigger" for pumps that don't have the clips to keep pumping the gas without my physically being there. that way i can still check the oil and air pressure.
