I was wondering if anyone can help.

I just picked up my new 2004 RX-8 GT and notice a funny sound coming from the car when i change from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. this usually happends at about 7000 RPM. The best way to describe the sound is like a slinky in your hand.

Any comments would be helpful.

 

I picked up my new one two days ago and haven't heard such a sound, or perhaps if I have, just thought of it as normal. Is it loud, and is there any vibration?

 

it isnt super load but you can hear it easily, it sounds like a vibration but i am not getting a vibration in the car, it sounds very similar to an exhaust shield rattling against the muffler, i suppose something is probably rubbing,
