Fuel sending

Anyone ever have their fuel gauge say half full and run out of gas? Mine did the first week. took it back and had them fix it. they said it was the fuel sending sensors. Now I dont trust my gauge.. any insight would be appreciated

The sensor inside your gas tank is defective, that's why its reading it incorrectly.

This is why I reset mileage every fill up. I at least have an idea how much is left based off miles since last fill.

I do that, too. When I learned to be an aircraft mechanic back in high school, a mantra among the instructors was "Never trust a gauge."

Only problem with resetting the trip meter every fillup is that it leads you down the slippery OC slope of calculating gas mileage every time.
