Thats ok, but Seafoam for about the same money worked better for me. Are you having a problem?

That **** in a bottle doesnt do jack...to be an effective cleaner it needs to be highly concentrated, and even if you wait until 1/8 of a tank to put that little 10 ounce bottle in, it is still highly diluted. The only way to get 100% results is to physically remove the injectors and have an injector shop service them. I prefer fuelinjectorconnection.com but RC is also a high quality shop.

I have had many sets of rx7 injectors cleaned over the years, and I also had the injectors for my rx8 done.

No problem. 2009 with 5,000 miles. Thinking more as a preventative. Thoughts?

IMO do not bother with f/i cleaner until you hit 100k miles+ and even then its not needed. I like seafoam as a cleaner also btw, I have used it on cars in the past. If you have less then 20k miles though I wouldn't put a drop of anything in it, your motor is brand new and its not needed. All most additives do is if they get in and dont clean then they are essentially detergents which will then move onto your seals possible making a leak come sooner then later. If you ever do anything I say use zoom zoom or seafoam but dont touch it for 20k miles at least imo, its just not necessary.

Seaform worked for me and my friend AJs 8. Thats all I'm saying. But hey, how did your 8 run/feel after you had the fuel injectors serviced?
Thanks!

wow,

that kinda shocks me.

not good or bad i just find it odd.

i find that a can of b&g 44k every 15k miles. on a half tank if you are smart. helps lots of stuff. from the fuel injector on back..

beers

I use STP fuel system treament every 3k or so as a preventative measure. Although a quality gasoline with a detergent probably already does the same. Can't hurt tho'.

But then, I baby my '8 with pre-mix as well.

That was 100% my opinion, we run MSG(mazda gasket sealant) in the motors before we ship them out and it gets on the injectors and spark plugs but we have never once had to replace a injector with nearly 2000 motors built. The worst thing for injectors is ethanol, ask any z32 owner, I used to use fuel injector cleaner and the only thing I would use is seafoam now. Just my experiences though.

About 15-25 per injector is the standard price. You get a before and after flow report etc. I think witchhunter is the cheapest and RC the most expensive. KGparts also does injector cleaning I believe.

I did it during the 4PAT to 6PMT swap so I have no frame of reference.

I'm gonna need some clarification here.

You "run" gasket sealant "in the engines"?

Yeah its a thick black liquid, MGS(Mazda Gasket Sealant), its injected 10-15mins into running the engine through the 2 vacuum lines on the intake manifold at 1800rpms. I forget how much they inject since its been months since I have done that. I dont know whats in it or anything, its written in Japanese and is a Mazda Japan product, takes months to get a case of it though. Supposedly it helps seal up all the seals.
The other odd product we have thats not out there is Solvest, also from a japan company, costs like $150 a small container, its used on the oil seal o-rings(inner/outer) for the rotor and also the rear stationary gear seal.

Interesting info on Sealant and Solvest. Wonder who else are doing these Mazda procedures?

Standard mazda proceedure, they say it helps all the gaskets seal properly when mixed in with the oil while running. It actually ends up drying into a rubber material on the intake ports that we have to clean off prior to shipping, thats all I know about the stuff.

That is odd, considering there are no "gaskets" anywhere inside a rotary engine. O-rings and metal seals do not need any help "sealing" and anything semi-solid that got on/between them would only serve to cause problems later.

This makes no sense to me.
