Angry Ft. Lauderdale International Auto Show...

[WARNING]

Do not, I repeat, DO NOT waste your time at the Ft. Luaderdale International Auto Show if you're looking for the RX-8 or any other interesting car. However, if you want to see a bunch of cars that you see on the road everyday, by all means go and waste $5 on parking and $6 to get in.

[/WARNING]

So I went last night and I will say this: It was not worth the 20 min drive to get there, let alone my $17 parking and admission. When we got to the ticket window, there was a sign that read:

The following manufacturers are not making an appearance at this AutoShow:

Ferrari
Lamborghini
Fiat
Maserati
Mini
Aston Martin
......

And many others I can't remember right now...

I went there expecting at least to see the RX-8... MazdaNA did not even have a booth... Hell, they didn't even have a sign that said "Mazda". The only thing Mazda related was some schmuck from my local dealership that was standing around like a butthead next to a 4cyl Mazda6 and a Mazdaspeed Protege. What a disappointment. I asked him about the 8 and he seemed to know nothing. He did say he talked to someone from RX8Forum.com that had come down from West Palm Beach to see the 8. He said the guy was pretty pissed when he found out it was not there.

Anyway, I am majorly bummed now so, if you're in the area and you are thinking about checking out the show, don't bother. It aint worth the trouble...

Thanks for the heads-up JTek!

Is it me or is the Ft. Lauderdale Auto Show routinely pretty lame compared to the Miami Auto Show? The only problem is that the Miami Auto show is usually in November so all we get to see there is cars that are already out for the year.

They really need to schedule an Auto show down here that showcases the new and upcoming cars A LOT better!

I went last year... actually i snuck in so it was free.
And it was lame only like 2 concepts and nothing real interesting.

Thanks for the heads up. Seems strange that they have the car in southbeach but not in the auto show. You think it might make a weekend appearance?
