I just like to think my car is happy to see me whenever I see the big ugly mustached grin on the front.

I wish I could get the mazdaspeed bumper and actually have it fit my car without heavy modification. Did you ever get a reply about the silk MS replica that said it fit an s2 just fine? I really love how the stock bumper looks except for the grill but that grill just ruins the whole thing.

Never got the chance, totalled out my 09 due to a ******* female corolla driver that cut me off then i hydroplaned into a wall head on, downhill, on a curve. its okay cuz i got a better rx8.

I personally love LOVE LOVE LOVE! the S1 mazdaspeed on a S2, pure sex, someone needs to do it soon, its about the same price as buying a replica bumper to get it to fit 800-1000 dollars.

do it xexok, do it

The only people that got owned were taxpayers who paid for the whole front plate system that failed (at least in Houston). If they were smart they would start enforcing it to at least re-coup some of the money but I guess that's asking a lot for a city that is basically bankrupt to actually make a sound decesion.

FWIW, in NYC at least, the buck tooth center plate mount acts as a bumper guard for street parking.

Sorry to hear about your car, its even worse when its someone else that causes it.

Someday. My friend in Colorado owns a garage/body shop so it would probably be best to wait until I go back there.

Plate or no plate

Hi,Here in NJ one needs a front plate and for three years i have never had a problem.....till today when a nice black officer pulled me over.I was stunned but stuck to the story of having it recently ripped off in the car wash and i had it on the back seat.I have a spot less driving record and expected a warning.I was very polit etc but instead got a 57 dollar ticket which I will fight in court.SO,I will unlikely NEVER put the tag on as the car doesnt DESERVE it.....and it blocks the REVI intake HA,Jim S 2007 BLK/BLK REVI K&N BORLA

I don't have one on, but then again I have temps for now. Though, it all depends upon your state and I just read this about IL:

Illinois Front License Plate Law Bill 4888 change!!!! - The Chicago Garage

So yea, awesomeness for me I guess.

I don't understand, you knowingly broke the law, lied to a peace officer ( I am assuming that story was not the truth) why it was not affixed to the vehicle. Given a citation that you deserved and now you want to fight it? You will most likely loose and in addition to the citation you will be hit with court costs. Your better off just paying the fine and moving on. Put the plate on.

I don't put mine on either, but if I'm cited for it, I'll take my medicine.

If you think you don't need a front license plate, read the whole thread. The bill died in committee. One is still required in Illinois. The police aren't going to allow anything like this to pass. Plus, now Chicago has speed cameras that take pictures of the front plate. Fortunately, I can avoid going into the city.
The front bracket is broken on my car. I keep the plate in the front window (passenger side). Without the bracket, it looks like there isn't a place to put a plate. The cars are rare enough that an officer will probably not remember how one is affixed.

I only caught part of the conversation because it never really covered the original post; but the S2 is much better looking! With or without the plate on the front…
