Front License Plate Design

I'm looking for a design to put on my front plate. In my state, your not required to have one and my car looks naked without something up front. If I find a design I like, I'll probably have it made into a sticker or have the design airbrushed. Thanks for any help.

This is the first time I have heard of someone actually wanting a front plate on the RX8.

What about just a Mazda symbol on the front plate? Simple.

Same here.. many of us are willing to get tickets just to keep front end clean and plate free.

That being said, I think something with a rotor design would be interesting up front, as opposed to yet another RX-8 logo.

How about a single-color plate, like black, with one of PoLaK's RX-8 Club stickers? :D :D

But I'd have to echo the sentiments of those who just like "naked" better, since you put it like that....

Yeah I'd want possibly a black background with some kind of rotor design. If I can't find something I like I'll probably take the front mounting plate off.

That's strange, I thought the mounting frame wasn't installed in states where it's legal to drive without a front plate. You should take the plate off and see what it looks like without the frame- you'll probably like it better. It's the frame that many people don't like, not the plate itself.

I live in Kentucky and I bought the car in Ohio. So that's why the front plate mount is on it. I think tomorrow I'll be taking it off.

Take it off. You'll love being "naked!"

I don't have a license plate on the front of my car, my dad doesn't...if you look 1/5 people don't, and they never get tickets or anything. Its worth a what is it $100 fixit ticket to look good assuming you will get one which i doubt you will.

I live in NV and it is "bad" not to have the front plate installed, but honestly after Officer Friendly pulls you over for doing XXX in a Y zone, a no front plate citation is really considered just shooting fish in a barrel!

This is actually an interesting thread topic.

I believe brothervoodoo lives in California, so I guess he isn't afraid to get a ticket. I'm in southern California and I have the front license on. I'm not taking any chances.

Lynn, you should do a billet design like brothervoodoo has (above) OR try a chrome nose extension. Someone in this forum has it and a picture (is it Hetz? I forgot who.). It looks like the nose extension on the new Maserati Quattroporte. I think it's pretty cool.

If you're going to put something into the space inside the nose and want to use a rectangular frame, I would use a long slender rectangle shape like for German front license plates, not a stout rectangle like on US cars.
