Count our brand new 2004 yellow rx8 in on this testing postive. We just bought ours 2 weeks ago, and after reading this post tonight I tried the test. Needless to say getting into the trunk was so easy to do with the valet key via the method stated on this post. I didn't even have to pull the key out a bit. What a shame. But I agree that we would never allow a vallet park our RX8. We'd pay the tip and park it ourselves.

I registered on Mazda's site, and there was a 'contact us' type of link I followed.. the email eventually was responsed by an address at "Mazdaowners@mazdausa.com" (which you can reply to, since they asked if i had further questions to do so..)

Heh at first I thought of that, but then I realized that thieves are more resourceful than we typically are, so instead I think of this thread as positively informing people as to why they should not park thier cars via valet :D
