so i dont know if you guys read my post earlier about my car breaking down in fortworth tx, but i have a couple questions for you guys.

ok first off my motor is not blown and compression is fine, they could not find anything wrong w/ my car, said could of been possibly bad gass or carbon buildon up in the fuel injectors.

told me 245.00 for clearing the carbon out of the car which i told them not to since i already have the mazda carbon cleaner. isnt that a rip off price?? i told them i had the **** and ide do it myself but they said they do it different clean the carbon outa the throttle body and injectors w/ the cleaner. isnt that what the 30 dollar cleaner does that i have from mazda?

secondly what else do you guys think it could be? im scared its gonna act up on the way home. maybe a bad coil? i have the mazsport coils so how do i tell that their bad and where could i get them down here to replace??

oh also told me my tranny seal was leaking thats 185.00 dollars to fix, i told them to fix it but im afraid theres not really a leak and their just screwing me, seems kinda fishy to me. so all together w/ tranission leak fix and testing diagnostics fees and stuff my bill is 300.00 is that about right??

 

have you cleaned out the throttle body with the carb cleaner? or have you just cleaned out the injectors?

 

niether yet, im still in texas.. i thought the decarboner cleaned the injectors and throttle body? what other steps are there? hey thats where my car is.. denten at classic mazda

 

my trans seal has leaked over 5 times in the past 72K miles. Its possible yours is. 185 is cheaper than what my dealer quotes me for that repair. I just buy the seal and have my tech friend do it for me.

 

I hope Aaron is your service rep. He is the guy I see and he is (or really seems to be) knowledgeable about the RX-8. moreso than most of the other people at Classic Mazda. He drives a loud suped up transam, but he has talked to me fairly indepth about the engine internals, on the 8, and didn't sound like he was faking ( I would have known.) They usually treat me pretty well there, but sometimes they drag their feet a little with warranty work. --replacing second and third synchros took 3 weeks--

 

cool he is my tech! yea he seemed cool and everything, talking to me about my nitrous and mods. I was cool w/ everything until they pull this 245.00 carbon cleaning stuff, thats where a red flag flew up for me. Im going to go get it today i should get there around 1:00 since im just getting ready to leave killeen. well thanks for the info.
