Ok, here you go. Do you have the DVD that came with the car? It shows you how on that DVD. It will take forever and you will think it will never work but it will.

This is to much work for me when I am on a schedule. I had an appt in the States to do my tires that I bought at TireRack and this **** goes and happens. You can only imagine the anger I was in!!

Sooooo sad to see my car go like this. 9K thanks for the link. That method looks easier. I have a late 06 model.

I will print those directions/inst. and save for the next time should this ever happen again. In all the 4yrs of ownership of my baby this is the first time this has happened!!

MMmmmm well ... the cost is going to depend on how much they do to "fix" the problem.

I'm willing to bet they replace the spark plugs .. and that will run you 200 and won't likely be covered under warrentee (maybe)

Coils maybe ... and likely an hour of shop time at 70+/hr rate

PM'd

WCS : there is no PM...lol...Don't worry I won't crank call you with heavy breathing. :lol2

I don't mind getting the plugs done anyways as I have yet to do that. Lets hope that it is a flooding issue and nothing else. I have a vid to post of my car saying bye...lol The dude must have been nervous seeing me record him.

That sucks, too bad your not local, deflooding is fairly simple. I have the DVD, I could possibly copy it but I bet you could get it somewhere.

dont feel bad Leesha, I just went through this same thing like 2 weeks ago.... Watched the car get towed and sit at the dealer for 2 days while they did their magic....

Nothing I tried would get the car started. Least it was all free so hope you still have a warranty...I fear what their costs would havbe been since they changed the plugs.

They will also zoom zoom clean the engine and do a compression check.

I think I almost flooded my S2 today. I let it warm up till the temp was 1/4 and turned it off. after I cleaned the interior, I tried to start it. I had to let it crank for a good 2-3 secs the it fired up. I could smell gas.

Keep in mind the is the first time in 4years!!!!

9K if you send a copy that would be great. PM me and I'll give you my address.

Biggy: Ya sucks cause I paid $214 and they did it the same day maybe 2hrs later it was fixed.

JX: I am so scard now at the casino valet parking I tell them make sure its warm before they shut it off to prevent flooding.

I WILL NEVER MOVE IT FROM THE DRIVEWAY TO GARAGE AND JUST SHUT OFF BEFORE IT IDLES BELOW 1000...

I really need to learn how to deflood in case I'm in the middle of nowhere and this happens again.

If the DVD is easy to follow then I'll try whatever it takes.

I tell myself this all the time and I did the same thing to flood mine. Turned it on, drove from driveway to a parking space 30 feet away, shut car off....

$214 seems like a lot less money that I expected it to cost.

i had my s2 for about 8k miles. and i didn't do "proper" shut down, even when my dealership told me i should do it, and showed me how to do it. i guess i wanted to see with my own eyes how much of a problem it really was. i was beginning to think the S2 didnt have nearly has many problem has the old ones. and BTW i never had any problem, i even let my car sit out for almost 2 months in the winter and it started up just fine.

Never say never cause after 4 years this happened to me. I drove it in the garage and didn't let it idle down below 1000 rpm and just shut it off. This was my problem. I normally rev it but thought what the heck it's never happened before because I have a newer year. And boom... it happened. Got my car back 2-3hrs later but it cost.

Think I might be going through the same thing right now. Drove my car 90 miles yesterday and parked it in the garage. Got up this morning to go to work and it did a slow crank and then nothing but a ticking sound, like the battery is going dead. I put it on a charger on auto and let it charge for 20 min and then the charger said the battery had a full charge so I tried to start it but again it cranked a bit then slowed down and started ticking again. I then put it on manual charge for about 10 min, got a phone call from the guy I was supposed to be picking up to take to work and was telling him what was going on with the car. I went to let him hear the sound through the phone and sure enough the car started. Made me look like a liar. I turned the car off a min later and again tried to start it but it just did the slow crank/ticking thing again. I put the battery on auto charge and caught a ride to work. Got home from work and tried to start it but now it just does a humming sound like the starter is doing its thing but the car isn't firing. So after my long rant.... is my car flooded now? Lol I'm about to have it towed to the dealership and have them fix it. It's still under warranty and I also bought extra coverage cause I know next to nothing about rotary engines so Im hoping I should be covered for anything that needs to be done to it

If you remember the following you will never have this issue again .

As soon as you realise the car is not going to start (after maybe 4-5 seconds of cranking)
Turn off
Push the accelerator pedal right to the floor and try starting again - as soon as you hear the tone of the engine change (IE sounds like it wants to start ) let your foot off the pedal .
Keep it cranking.
And it should start within a couple of seconds .

This morning it was the slow crank so I didn't do that but now I have been trying that since the battery is fully charged but it still won't start. Owners manual section 7-20
