IL First real issue with my 8

There is a gas smell whenever I turn the heat on. It smells like its coming from the vents. If I have the air circulate through the cabin then there is no exhaust smell it seems.

Any ideas on what could be causing this? Price range on repairs?

has any work been done on the car recently? I had to get my fuel filter replaced, and it smelled like gas for a few days afterwards...

is this just while you are sitting in it idling and/or warming the car up or while driving?

Its all the time, its not a strong smell I thought it was just me at first but then one of my friends said they smelled it and that was after a 40min drive he got in.

its an 04 with 66000miles and the last time it was worked on was before I bought it. maybe in sept 08 sometime?

I have a whole list of what was worked on back until like 05 i don't have it on me atm but i will post some things later i have to go to work.

Find out when the plugs were done last. It's possible they're a mess and maybe that's the cause. Are you sure it's not a gear oil smell? Gas smell at startup may be ok, but should stop after that.
