FINALLY got an 8

:D Just picked her up last night :D . Traded an SE-R Spec V for her.

It's been 6 months searching this site and others (this site is VERY helpful), researching, comparing, reading useful (and the not so useful sometimes) stuff. I'm pretty much a quiet person on this forum and I'm not trying to sound funny and all, but I would like to thank everyone on this forum for all the input they've put into this site. It really was a BIG help. Thankyou!!!

Now somebody loan me $5.00. I need some oil for this sucker!!!

The run-down:
2004 RX-8
color: black (black cloth interior)
packages: sports package
mods: Borla catback exhaust
ice: Sirius Satellite radio (haven't subscrided)
plans: Canzoomer, intake, new wheels and tires, some winter tires for the winter, and some other stuff I need to look into :p

I do have some issues I'm trying to find on this site. The oil light comes on at random. It will come on for like a 1-5 minutes then go off. Anybody know what that is off hand. I think that info is on this site. Someone got the link?

The oil light comes out on mine too. Just check your oil regularly and add any if needed. Or you could be needing the "N" flash. But that's a whole other topic. This car begs to be pampered.

Read all the TSB's that apply to your VIN/build date. Have a dealer perform any that haven't been done already. This might well address your oil light issue. Mention that to the dealer anyway, it's not right and mine has never come on. You'll find the TSB's/recalls listed here:

https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-trouble-shooting-95/technical-service-bulletins-tsbs-recalls-rx-8-a-14453/

Before sinking more money into expensive mods, consider sinking $15 or so into one that could save you $hundreds or $thousands in non-warrantied repairs. I'm referring to protecting your AC condensor and oil coolers from stone damage. There are threads on the DIY Forum to help you. The Canzoomer can wait, this really shouldn't.

Then go ZOOM!!! Welcome to the cult. :D

thanks SpinninAgain and TxRx8. I'm gonna have the oil pan issue checked, the battery switched (her start up is kind of weak). I can replace the battery myself, can't I? Or would you suggest letting Mazda do it?

I think I'm gonna get the N flash. Will that flash cover all of the other flashes (A-M or whatever) so I don't have to get any other flashes?

I think I'm gonna ask these questions in the maintenance section. Wrong area to ask this stuff. Sorry.
