This site seems to be worse than others when it comes to fanbois. Nobody is allowed to present any information that praises another car or criticizes the RX-8 without a fanboi jumping down his throat. Accept your car for what it is and realize that there are superior vehicles out there.

If the performance really doesn't bother you, then keep out of these threads. It's that easy.

We're not fanbois, we just know our car is unique and the most sportscar for the money. We are happy with our choice. It's nice to learn about other cars but there are way too much sti and evo threads on here. You guys intrude on the rx8 spirit and start flame wars whenever a fanboi(as you call it) expresses his support for his rx8. The rx8 is superior to anything in it's class. Sti and evo are not in this class. So why all the sti threads and comparos. We know you have more HP. Big deal. those treads just go on and on and on about nothing special. I for one will try to bury them for the sake of sanity.

First, its your use of the word “fast”, as in your assertion that “there are plenty of family sedans and small SUVs that are faster or about as fast as an RX8.” Meanwhile, you only refer to straight line speed, while most reasonable enthusiasts define fast as the whole package, i.e. the Car & Driver example that I referred to that saw an 8 keep up with a 390HP SVT Cobra on a race track. Maybe its your limited vocabulary, but if you mean acceleration than SAY acceleration.

But lets continue to play your game. The list you presented in the RX8 vs. RX7 thread show several cars and SUV’s that that never showed ¼ mile times better than about 15 seconds. In the 3 examples I provided in this thread, the RX8 showed 14.5 quarters. Yet you say that are “about as fast”, fair enough. But, you have gone on at length in threads about how a S2000 is definitively faster than a 8, even though the Motor Trend comparison I referred to showed both cars within 2 tenths of a second of each other year. You were even more definitive about the SRT4, I think the words you used were a RX8 “will NOT keep up with an SRT-4 unless they're driven by retarded limbless monkeys.” Yet again, the last test I saw of an SRT4 (last Sept. Car & Driver) showed a 14.3 second quarter, only 2 tenths better. So, how is .5 seconds “close” or “about the same” with slower cars than the 8, but a .2 second advantage is way faster?

See Ike, all 8 owners could have bought cheaper cars that are faster in a straight line. We don’t care man! I bet most S2000's and SRT4's do have faster acceleration in a straight line with the right driver. Again, I don’t care. But its the number of times that you present your “truth” and the inconsistencies in your stories that reveal you as an agitator, a troll, it couldn’t be more obvious. You got no credibility man.

You see, I like this site, visit it every day, think there is some intelligent people on it. Then there’s you Ike.
Look at the trap speeds, the SRT-4 can trap as high as 103 mph, the S2K can trap 100mph (both have also run sub 14 sec 1/4 miles), that's a BIG difference. Plus, if you don't see my comment about the SRT-4 as a joke then you need help. All those cars I listed trap within a mph or two or much higher than the RX-8. Like I said in the other thread, people were talking about straight line speed, so that's the topic I addressed. Also, if you had been heer for more than a month you'd realize that all of 1 person has actually run a mag time on this site, most run high 14s and low 15s.

If you really didn't care, you wouldn't be whining so much and attacking me personally. Do you think you're the first person to do this? Some noobie joining the site all excited about their new car thinking it's one of the fastest things on the road. Then they read some of my posts and get all butthurt, deal with it because I'm not going to sugarcoat things so you can stay in your little fantasy world. I don't overestimate my own cars and make them out to be something they're not, I'm certainly not going to do it with yours.

This is why you, in particular, are a "fanboi" and not just a fan or enthusiast. What arrogance it takes to say that your car is "superior to anything in it's [sic] class". Maybe the RX-8 is the best car FOR YOU, but a blanket statement that it is superior in it's class is idiotic. Unless, of course, that car is all the 4-door, 4-seat sport coupes with a rotary engine. What other vehicles would you call in the RX-8's class?

There are all the STi/Evo/RX-8 comparos because they are similarly priced cars that many, many people cross shop. This forum is evidence of that! I just try to bring some sanity to idiots who say stupid things like the RX-8 "is superior" to anything. If you don't like the threads, stay out! Why do you have such a need to rag on the STi and Evo when you know nothing about them? Insecurity perhaps?

yeah Ike is a troll. For some reason he's set up a homstead here. He sure can be agitating even though he says he is not a hater. He's out posted just about everybody. He thinks everyone is a noobie and inferior to his infinite knowledge. He get's all excited from ity bity cars with high hp/weight ratios. He sees things differently than us rx8 patriots.

Lies, I've never been a fanboi! Well, maybe a little when I was young and had my DSM but the term fanboi didn't exist then so it doesn't count...

I saw the humor right away and laughed in my fanboy way. I agree with the rest too

There is a big difference between a "fanboi" and a fan/enthusiast. A fanboi like roaddemon thinks his RX-8 is the greatest car ever built and can do no wrong (see his "RX-8 is superior" comments"). I, on the other hand, am an enthusiast who can see the positives and negatives of both the STi and the RX-8 and can understand why one person would prefer a certain car over another.

I do happen to think that the STi is a superior performance machine when compared to the RX-8 (notice that I qualify this with the word "performance"). However, I really like driving our RX-8 and can understand why some would prefer it over the STi. It's the fanbois that I can't stand.

I don't respect Ike, for the sole reason that he's made almost 5,000 posts on boards about a car he doesn't own. I don't spend that much time on stuff I actually do own. Get a life already.

I understood the humor.

Zoom, you don't think Canada is progressive, though, or are you referring to their income tax? :D

Ike, it is a mystery to me as to why you hang here. Did you once own an 8 or something? That I could understand.

It's obvious some of you have zero experience on the internet and on car forums. Take a look at the off-topic section of nasioc.com (the large subaru forum, for those of you that don't know). Less than half of the members there actually own a subaru, and no one is telling them to leave because they don't own a subaru. On this site, one person who doesn't own an RX-8 is on here and he constantly gets told to leave. Get real.
