Fast start method...?
Hey everyone,
I've now had my 8 since July this year and I'm getting much better at manual driving.
So I was just wondering, what method do you use when you've come to a complete stop and want to accelerate quickly?

I usually use the brakes to stop. Then when taking off at speed I shift into first gear and accelerate. You? :D
Sorry, couldn't resist sarcasim!! What exactly do you want to know?

you have to get a feel for it. I have been dragracing since i was 10 and the feel for the clutch is the most impotant. Their is alot that goes into it such as, how well the clutch has been used, temp (like how long you have been driving), tires, tire preasure, altitude, ground temp, and so on. Lastly just practice, get a feel for the car. become one with the car (just joking).
PS i find on a warm day about 4100 with a little feathering of the clutch does the trick.

Still getting used to it, my other car is a Dodge 4x4 w/ a cummins diesel approx, 450 ft/lbs at 1600 rpm, the diesel is definately easier to drive, but the RX-8 is definately easier to drive at eighty miles per hour. :D
