Talking I finally bought her! Thanks guys - this place rocks!

Hey guys,

I've been dreaming about this car since September 2003! I finally bought her, and her name is Alicia. My situation has changed drastically: at first I thought I'd buy her living in the sunny San Francisco Bay Area. I ended up moving to Boston, MA at the end of September for my dream job, and now I've got my dream car. Now all I need is my dream girl (I'm working on that one too ;-)! Thanks to many sleepless nights cruising this site, I went in aggressive and got a helluva deal. I pick her up on either Tuesday or Wednesday, whenever it stops snowing!

Thanks for all your expertise. Now I can add a decent signature to the end of my posts!

Amazingly, I thought I'd be the only one buying a sports car in the Boston area in the middle of a snowstorm. When I got there, there was a couple already there, who were in the middle of purchasing a Nordic Green RX-8 and a Red Mazdaspeed MX-5! Ridiculous... Now is a great time to buy. Props to Ira Mazda, they resisted my offers all they could. Thanks for a great deal on an awesome car.

Now, here are some pictures...

P.S. I pick her up on tuesday or wednesday, whenever this bloody snowstorm lets up! So many things to do, so many things to buy...

Congrats on the new 8! Make sure you get some snow tires on her ASAP as you will find out quickly she don't go anywhere with the OEM tires

Very cool... congrats on your purchase of an AWESOME car, and welcome to the forum!

Now take some time learning about how to avoid it's quirks (aka, learn how to always warm it up!) and almost as importantly, get some good snow or Ultra High Performance all season tires on it ASAP!

Haha, yeah, I definitely wrote in the snow with my finger. I'm not about to go around marking my territory like a dog!

I've got to put in an order for some Michelin Pilot Alpins tomorrow morning when Tirerack opens up. I don't pick her up until Tuesday or Wednesday, and weather.com says it should stop snowing by then.

Man...if I was in back in California, I wouldn't have to worry about the snow at all... Now I gotta go get a car cover, snow tires, all weather mats, a front mask for the longer trips, a big ol' snow brush.... Arrrgh! I probably won't get a chance to really wash/wax her until the spring. I just hope Ira waxes her good before delivery...they said they'd hand wash her and give her two coats of wax before I pick her up......

P23--Congrats on the new acquisition! Glad you got a great deal. 'Aaliyah' looks good, and I'm sure you'll have a great time with her. If you think about it, it's probably better that it's snowing so that you aren't able to push her too hard during the break-in period

PS. Is it an auto or a stick? If it's a manual and it's well under $27k, you just got yourself a great deal!
