Wow, haven't used matlab since college in 7 years; didn't think anyone would know it here.

Physical Therapy student here.. lol
But I did just go to a WYSE competition yesterday and got 1st place on the Physics test. lol
I am not sure if most people that buy these cars are engineers, or if most people that buy them are just more intelligent than the normal human.

Biochemistry student... first couple years are the same as chemical engineering.
Up to this year i was set on electrical/civil engineering.
I think the idea of having a conversation about your rotary after r@ping someone on a track gets me excited. Not to mention being able to explain your engineering masterpiece under the hood helps.
... i guess its the car of intelligence and thinking outside of the box. Kind of like a theoretical particle physicist. haha

Have some projects here and there for circuits. M.E. major here. Nothing crazy, though Diff EQ did have me busting my ***. We will see what this semester hands me.

I'm an Electrical Engineer at Cal Poly SLO. The Rx8 attracted me because of the rotary engine, as well as it's amazing styling. Everything else was just an added bonus to it being great

Mechanical Engineer here. Currently working as a Project Manager for the family owned voice/data cabling company though. Hopefully gathering some field experience before pursuing an RCDD designation and getting back into design work instead of the installation work.
This is my 4th Wankel though. Had a first gen from a friend that I drove for a few months while my truck was broken in college. Bought a red 87' GXL and drove it for about a year after that. Then bought another '87 GXL, black this time, to rebuild the motor on. Paid $250 bucks for it, rebuilt the motor in my buddies garage on the weekends, and sold it for $1,500 about 4 months later. Neat little project. Learned a TON about the car and the engine by taking it apart. I was really more impressed I got it to run again once it was all said and done!
I think the uniqueness of the engine, plus the propensity of engineers to spend time on the web leads to seeing a high number of us "on here". Just my thought though :D

I wasn't able to complete by BS degree in electrical engineering. I'm a technical writer at a large semiconductor company.
I've been fascinated with the rotary engine since the early 70s. I still recall that GM paid $50 million for the rights to build rotary engines back in those days. There was a prototype of a rotary-powered Chevy Vega. Shoot...that might've saved that car from extinction.

how i miss this, BS ME. but now i am "staff engineer" at a Chinese industrial valve company in Houston XD... Rotary, unique, and fking sexy. ..... then after driving it just fall in love. =)

Many people told me that I should have been a structural engineer (much later, I eventually became a residential framers). I wanted a career in astrophysics. I am now a tattoo artist. The rx8 is a beautiful car to look at, interesting to contemplate and fun to drive. Everything that I could want in a car.

Senior Staff Mechanical Engineer, Design the equipment that makes conductors and insulators on computer chips. Vacuum chambers and such. You know that little sticker you see somtimes that says "Intel inside", That also means "Gary Inside".
Got my 04 rx8 because it handles like a true sports car, AND the wife likes the interior. It is a little down on power but i can deal with it. Love it on the track.
