IT Director - Degreed in Mathematics/Computer Science, minor in Mechanical Engineering. I'm drawn to the uniqueness and elegant simplicity of the rotary like a moth to a flame.

Meteorologist (AS) in a past life, now network engineer / sysadmin with heavy unix/linux tendencies. Will do windows but won't admit to that in public (other than in this thread )

Hmmm.
I actually took six different ones (different type) besides the one you mentioned and also the one you mentioned twice. They all put me in aviation-related work. Air traffic controller, propulsion engineer, pilot, aerospace engineer, avionics, et cetera. They basically all put me on the engineering side of it and I couldn't figure out why I was also deemed suited for that work, particularly since I don't care for math much. I can do it and do it well, it just isn't super easy for me, which means I don't care for it as much. It requires more time than other things do.
I was actually considering it, but the money wasn't there for college to go into that or my preferred career of medicine to become a surgeon.

i'm definitely not an engineer, so maybe my nerdiness drew me to the rx-8. im a toy designer! I have neglected my left brain for so long! but art (...design...?) has always been my passion. the aesthetics of the rx-8 are what made me love it, but the uniqueness of the rotary and rarity on the roads are awesome too.

I'm horrible at math. If I had any inclination towards it, I would have been a mechanical engineer.
Majored in English in college...this would is my third rotary.

I have a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Mechanics. I have about 30 years of experience and I am presently working in the aerospace area. This is my second RX. I previously owned a 1980 RX7 that I traded in 1984.

Soooo....
Most of us have O.C.D.
This explains why we have accepted the RX-8 challenge.
Does an Ophthalmologist with a Minor in micro-management count?
Perhaps I'm a micro-Engineer...

I'm unemployed??? Then followed by laughter...that's pretty strange. I wasn't aware I had to give my qualifications or information about me not pertaining to the subject. Or that I had to write perfect posts every time.
You would assume wrong. Throughout college, I was a speech and pr writer for a few fortune 500's. I now work in Accounting and Finanace for a railroad and have never been unemployed...thanks for playing.

Look again, it's laughter at your post, followed by the statement about being unemployed, not the other way around (big difference). I actually thought you were trying to be funny, but I guess not. I thought it hilarious that you said you were an English major and then followed that with a sentence that is grammatically incorrect.

I think he's giving you crap because of the above... re-read the last line carefully, mr. English Major.
That one's worthy of a Prarie Home Companion skit, methinks.

Actually, I did look again. Was pissed off about something here at work and didn't stop to think.
No big deal...and yeah, it is pretty funny how I wrote it.
