ECU/PCM flash???

Is there a way to determine what flash your vehicle has? I have been doing the search thing but so many people call it so many different things that it is hard to search it.

Did different VINs come with different codes from the factory? Is there an easy way for me to figure out what the code is? Is there just a sticker somewhere?

Yes, They apply a sticker on the lip of the underside of the hood, at least that's were mine is.

I have seen different posts about slamming on the breaks and watching the oil pressure needle swim... I was not sure what all that was about.

Hopefully it will have the M code on it by the time I pick it up tomorrow.

Actually, check out I_doggy's reply in the thread you quoted three posts up from mine. It is actually a method to reset and test which flash you have. You pump your brake 20 - 23 times, and the oil gauge needle should react depending on which flash you have.
