I had my RX scanned after the engine warning light came on and received that code. The local mechanic who scanned it for me said I should take it to the dealer for clarification being that it could be a number of things.

The car runs fine with absolutely no change in performance, idle, MPG, etc since or before the light went on. The light has gone off and on a few times since it first lit (and is currently off), so it is not constantly lit. I can determine no similarities in action for when the light does come on, although it has lit twice during an acceleration. The other 3-4 times I have failed to notice the exact moment). The first time it went on was during a drive after the car had been sitting for two months while I was out of the country.

Any ideas before I take it to the dealer and get robbed ? I have searched the archived threads but have come up empty.

Is that for the air pump for emissions? I think so. It only works when the car is cold. So that is no big deal if its what I think it is.

Except at smaog time........

 

ya that air pump is for cold start emissons you wont have a performace loss or anything but u will fail state inspection if u have a dtc set
