Mine are on during rain and usually after dark. If there's a chance that someone might see me better and avoid accidents I'll have them on.

Mines are on all the time to give the RX-8 a distinctive look at night. I can always tell that an RX-8 is coming at me from a distance at night IF it's foglights are on, because the angle the foglight is at in relation to the main headlights creates a "viper fang" look. I absolutely love that.

Having driven with my low beams, high beams and with fogs on and off I disagree with that allegation about the fogs constricting your pupils. The Xenons are *so* bright. The high-beams make the road signs glow so brightly that I actually squint. I don't notice any significant difference in the lighting of the road with or without foglights if I have my Xenons on. However, I think the 4-light look is cools. Others have commented on how nice/tough/evil it looks.

All of the driving light restrictions I have read related to driving with fogs only or parking lights only - idiots who turn on their parking lights at dusk and forget to turn on their headlights later at full dark. I know there are restrictions on spotlights, but I'll look for the NY DMV rules on also using fog/driving lights with the headlights.

Do we all know the High Beams on RX8s are normal halogen, not Xenon?

And for the last time, they are 'driving lights' not 'fog lights' - Makes it easy to avoid 'improper use' tickets

Uh, no, I didn't realize that. I thought Xenon = low beams and high beams both. That right? My bad?

However, I agree about the 'driving lights' distinction. I'll be sure to use that in most cases, but I was keeping with the terms of the subject of the thread.
