Question Drilling into the trunk floor

For those who already installed something in their trunk that needed drilling: how did you make sure nothing gets damaged?
For instance, if I want to install a sub and bolt it to the trunk floor, or an amp fastened with screws, can I just freely drill holes or do I need to be concerned what's underneath?

I'm thinking about an Infinity Basslink and that needs to be screwed to the floor. I wanted to put it in the opposite corner from the tire repair kit... but am unsure how to determine the best way to do the drilling. Last thing I want is to damage something while doing this.

Thanks for any ideas...

On the plus side the gas tank is under the rear seat so you won't hit that or any fuel lines. Not sure about brake lines though but there can't be much under there.

There is one brake hose nestled in the very front, going from left to right. It is hard up against the cross-brace that sits below the rear seat, so you would have to be drilling diagonally towards the seat, and very close to the seat, to hit it.

The only real possibility of damage would be to your charcoal canister, which is in the center and off to the right a bit. This is about an inch below the surface of the trunk floor, so you might hit it if you use a really long drill bit. If you use a short drill you should have no problems at all
