Does a vented engine hood...

Back in the MX3 days a fellow by the name of Luc grafted a pair of cosworth vents to the hood with good results...aesthetically pleasing too...
Anyone know where you can find aftermarket vents?

The effect would be minimal, but a small increase of downforce should be able to be measured. Its similar to the effect of real fender vents found on cars in the ALMS, get rid of high pressure areas creating drag and suck it over the car to create downforce...
the only problem i have with many vented hoods is the engine washing everytime it rains....

But then again, depending on the location of the vents, this may not even be necessary.

I was thinking of just flapping the vent...screw down a flap of rubber that is allowed to only go one-way...out...the negative pressure on top of the vent should create enough suction to open the flap...
to be fair...I haven't given my thoughts...much thought...
