I do, but then I rarely see another RX-8, so it's pretty darn exciting.

driving the 8 is a very personal experience, and I would find it invasive and in poor taste to attempt a connection with another who is also experiencing this very private matter.

I'm always so excited to see another one that I'm waving, honking, AND flashing lights before I even realize what I'm doing. lol I get something back about 50 percent of the time... the others are probably scared that if they even acknowledge me I'll follow them home or something.

I wave or nod to any rotary around (I own a 3rd gen RX-7) or rev to get their attention when they're not looking.

I always get at least a nod back from RX-7 owners of any year model and the occasional RX-3 or 4 that I see around the streets here in PR but have never been acknowledged by RX-8 owners.... They just look at me with this "I'm better than you" look in their faces. LOL

The rate of wave return has been dropping lately. Used to be, all 8 drivers waved back. Now it's a minority.

 

The wave does seem to be falling off. I still wave. If people want to wave back it;s friendly, if not they're just boring. I almost fell over myself when I saw another lightning yellow last year. I haven't seen one since, and hadn't seen one in about a year before that. The guy driving his did a big double take then started waving like mad. I guess that they weren't popular in my part of the world.

 

Never. Why would I? I don't need anyone else's confirmation that I love my car.

 

I'll give em a wave. I'm from the midwest so I wave at everything.

 

I wave all the gaddamn time - but i only get the 'what's up' every blue moon.

In socal we try and spot each other but now with the drop in prices a lot more non-club members are joining so they don't wave back...

 

I always wave, even to the guy in town with a VR that has never waved at me in the entire past year I've had my car, one of these days... but I have a tendency to wave at anyone in a car that I like, STIs, Mini's, MS3s, Porches, etc. You'd be surprised how many of them wave back. I always get a wave or thumbs up from RX7 owners and maybe half of the RX8 owners I see. I even get nods from random Miata owners occasionally. It's always a pleasant surprise when someone waves back at me.
Honestly, I've never had another female in an 8 not wave back, so don't be shy about waving at girls, we like our cars too.

i know what you mean. i wa at CVS and i came out to find a BB was parked next to me. the dude was still in his 8 so i said whats up. stupid butthole looked at me like he was the ish with his crappy base model and didnt even say anything.

 

i saw a BB in ontario i was trying to say whats up. but he thought i was trying to race him.

 

haha i was on a dip run and when i came outta the gas station this chick got outta her rx8 it was a nordic green and poor thing looked rough it has been around lol she says "yeah yeah just keep walkin your rx8 is way better looking then mine" lol i just smiled and left

 

I hate when other 8 owners do that... no love
