Do you forget sometimes to warm up the engine and shut it off?

Do you forget sometimes to warm up the engine and shut it off?
I did that this morning. I got home late last night and parked it outside bc I didn't want to wake people up to move their cars. So I moved the car this morning into the garage and the engine has only been runnin for at least 2 min. I turned off the car and I was like "aww crap, I hope its not flooded." So I waited until my sister leaves for work because I needed gas too for the RX-8.
Well I turned it back on and it didn't. It did leave a very nice smell in the garage though and lots of smoke came out.

not a lot of smoke..just enough that i can see when i look. I'm assuming its the old oil. I went to get gas and no smoke that I can see clearly after that.

Mine smokes on startup every once in a while, too. Usually after it's been sitting for a couple days - like on a Monday morning. I wash the car nearly every weekend, which involves moving it out of and back into the garage. I always let it get to the point where the needle has at least moved up to halfway between cool and the halfway mark.
Anyway, I think the smoke is often evident of a flood - or near flood. However, I'd be curious to know if it's an ominous sign.

I pull out of the garage every morning (10-15 secs. maybe) and shut off the engine in the proces of getting my kid in the passenger side, rear. Went for a month pre-M flash and going on a month with M. Never had any smoke, flooding, etc. Of course, your mileage may vary, but I'm pleased and don't even think about it any more.

Last week I dodged a bullet. I only had it running for like 2 minutes myself when moving it out of garage. About 15 minutes later when I went to pull it back in, it took a good 7-8 seconds to start, and when it did start it just kicked over, and i smelled fuel. Every car acts differently, but I know if I try and pull that stunt in winter I am definitely flooding my car. I'm not messing arounmd anymore, and will let it fully warm up, even though it is rather annoying.

Friday 6/25/04 I pulled my car out of the garage and waxed it. Three hours later I went to start it and it would not start. It turned over and just kept whinying. I ran and got the manual and pressed the accelerator down and turned it over for 10 seconds - nothing. I did this about 7 times cycling between pressing the accelerator and then not depressing it. It finally started. The smell was horrible and the smoke was thick as fog. I have the M flash too. I have pulled the cr out of the garage like that many times over the past year but never had it happen until now.
