Sucks , did you test the system by pressurizing it (turning key to 'on' position) and looking for leaks before driving it?

What did you use to tap the fuel line with? Hose clamps?

Was the leak from the kit solenoid or from where you tapped the fuel line?

Again, anytime you screw with the fuel system this is a possibility, so fire extinguisher is your friend for at least the first couple trips.

Why is my comment stupid? It was in respond to this... Must've gotten into some folks' nerves perhaps?

its not a stupid comment, however, remember just as speeding ticket, never plead guilty, put the burden of proof on them.

I'd say everyone with nitrous or any FI power adder for that matter should invest in one right away. Clearly it could mean the difference between having a car and not.

Heck you could have an aftermarket catback catch something on fire. Even the simplest mods necessitate carrying a fire extinguisher. Now, bolting it to your A pillar ricer style? Ah. No.

I did pressurize it and did find a few leaks when i was finishing up everything this morning at 3 am. But after tightening it all down it quit leaking and i drove it and had no problems. Was just cruising at 50, heard a pop, and all went died, then the smoke, then the fire. I think it came from the t fitting but it could have been the solenoid becasue the solenoid was much more prone to leaking. I had just tightened down the clamps on all the nitrous and fuel lines and the only one i couldnt reach was the fuel in line and so i was going to tigthen it when i got home nad had the tools. 3 miles from home, boom.

i would keep it in a location where you can grab it without moving. Center of the car is good because if you get rear ended and your car is on fire, you aren't going to get anything out of the trunk.

any recommended locations for an extinguisher? I'd prefer something where it's not visible or at least if it is, it's out of the way. And do auto stores have them or just try home depot kinda thing?

holy **** t-run, this REALLY sucks. I'm sorry for your loss, I can only imagine what it feels like to see your car go up in flames.
This happened to a buddy of mine a few years back. I was a few minutes away with a fire extinguisher but it was too late.

I hope all goes well with the insurance company.

auto stores carry them.
Note to self: pick up an extinguisher next time I'm at the store.

Well, TrochoidMagic mounted his onto the back of the "Rear Center Piece" that covers the hole to the trunk. Easy access and no one sees it.
