Dealership problems

So I recently went to Open Road Mazda-Lincoln-Mercury in East Brunswick...I asked them to take a look at my tranny after they were done with the oil change...they said they wouldn't touch a thing because of the rp short shifter...i just laughed in their face but could not find a way to force them to check it out regardless...what should i do? call mazdausa...switch back to my old shifter and have them check it out...or should i just try a different dealer??

oh yah...and i believe the problem in the tranny is my shift forks in first and second..

not sure...but i got the car November 2004...new '05 with 9 miles when i got it...i'll look tomorrow but i think its early enough to get this fixed
