Dealer Service question...
Hello everyone!
I bought my RX-8 at a dealer that is quite a haul away from me...45 miles to be exact! However, the salesman there (John Koons Mazda in Marlow Heights, MD.) went over backwards to get me the deal on the car I wanted and he wroked me through the process every step of the way. I would love to have my car serviced there, but by living so far away from the dealer, it'll be almost impossible to get a ride, let alone towing costs, etc.
So my question is this...can I get the standard warranty services as well as any recalls and service updates done at any Mazda dealer? I know any dealer will service my car if I'm paying, but I'm talking about the "free, included in your warranty" type jobs?
Thanks for any info...hopefully the weather's getting nice for everyone and we can all get out and enjoy the drive...

The ONLY dealer who will EVER touch my car is 167 miles away from my house. I pass MANY dealers on the way to their place, and will continue to do so for the life of the car (and probably the next 10 cars as well).
It doesn't take too many bad experiences to make you appreciate the good ones..............

I wholeheartedly agree...you can never go far enough for the best service. But, one of the reasons I asked my initial question was that there is a dealer here in town closer to me that has some very well-reguarded RX-x mechanics on board. I just didn't know how receptive a dealer was to servicing a car that wasn't bought from them that is still under warranty.
Can you tell that I've never bought a "new" car before? LOL
Thanks for the info. Enjoy your drive...

Most service depts are independant of the sales dept. so they shouldn't really care where you bought it from cause they get paid from Mazda on warranty work.
