if the badge is still there...... use a blow dryer to warm up the decal and glue
use a piece of fishing line to remove the decal from the body
then use goo gone to remove the excess glue left

I wouldn't use goo-gone. The rule with cleaners and solvents is to use the least aggresive one that works. Goo-gone will work, but the less aggressive solvent is Naptha which can be purchased as Zippo lighter fluid or Ronsonol. I have used it on at least half a dozen cars for this.

in the past, i have just used a hairdryer to heat it up then peeled up an edge with my fingernail and just pulled. comes off as mostly one piece depending on the type. any residue comes off with a little wd-40 and a soft cloth.

Dawn dishwashing liquid...removes a lot of crap without destroying clear coat. follow with clay bar and a very good wax and you'll be golden. If some of the decal is still there use a hair dryer as mentioned first.
