Damn Dealer service techs!
*10AM*
For once, I brought the 8 home and I was thinking to myself... 'self.. they actually did a damn good job this time around, no flack, no lip, no issues, no problems with warranty work.... Got the rotors fixed, new front brake pads, fixed the rattle in the sun roof.. firxed the rust spot at the doors, got new headlights...hmmm something doesnt seem to be right...'
*fast forward to 10PM*
#%^#$!!!! Damn Techs!
They forgot to reinstall my fog light bulbs back into the fog light lamps when they replaced my right and left head light assembly. I turned on the lights and fogs, and i smell burnt plastic... im like WTF? At first I speculated that it was just the new headlights just burning off access grease from the HIDs....till i look outside and there's lights coming from underneath my bumper...the fog lights burnt through the bottom of the bumper!..
Now, I have 2 holes where the bulbs stick out....
Do you think the dealership will pay for this mistake? On Monday they will definately hear from me, I want a new front bumper! And new fog light bulbs.... they have plastic/urathane melted and molded all over.

They made a mistake, And its up to them to fix it.
Let them know you are upset, but don't be an A$$ about it. I think replacing your bumper and Foglamps is a reasonable expectation, and a loaner car to keep you mobile while they fix their mistake. Something for your trouble (free oil change or something)would be nice, but not required. But remember that being firm but courteous is the best way to get results . only go medieval on them if they try to be sleazy with you first. Always try to keep the moral high groun and you should be fine.
Remember: you catch more flies with honey than vinegar

Brought the car in today at 7AM. 8/15/06
I told them they forgot to plug in the bulbs to the assembly the day i took it out of the lot ( sat) and they immediately asked if i was tampering with the fog lights. I told them I bring my car in for oil changes... are you kidding me?
They know they messed up, so they took it in and will have a look at it, one of the techs admitted that he didnt reinstall the light bulbs, so that was a relief, atleast one of them was accountable for their own actions.
As good gesture, they are replacing the bulbs with the newer 'blue/white' bulbs, and they are replacing the bumper (for unknown reasons they have an extra lightning yellow painted bumper on hand) and I reminded them to NOT forget to reinstall my front lip as well... just my luck i get it back with no lip. haha.

Evrybody makes mistakes. It takes real maturity to own up to them, Kudos to the tech that admitted his screw up. it comes to show his heart is in the right place. Hopefully the Dealership will realize this too.
Good to hear. keep us updated.

nice to see a dealer make good on its mistakes. in fact, when i picked up my 8 yesterday from the dealer i found a fresh new scratch on the front right fender. i was nice about it (even though iwanted to ring the tech's neck) and the service advisor promised to have it buffed out whenever i wanted.
