" i have a sound when i pass 6500 at wot. sounds like marbles in a blender"
"i have the same problem only its when im cruising in 6th at 4k"
or
" when i rev it in my garage in neutral i hear the sound too"
none of these are the same situation or load. but each person will say " i have the same issue, problem, sound" when it almost cetainly isnt the same as one persons knock problem and in most cases isnt an issue or problem. ever since the late summer of 2003 thre have been posts about a sound when going past 6500.
guess what happens at 6250? the S-DAIS operates the APV. 99%(ish) who i or a few others have had a chance to listen to or has had a chance to hear ours etc turened out to be the S-DAIS operation. It sounds different at times because of the load you are putting on th eengine. and the person who here's it at 4k? well at 3750 the secondaries open which have asimilar noise. most of the time you dont hear it- too much other stuff going on.
now at 7300 guess what? a valve in the intake (S-DAIS) opens at 7250! it cross connects the intake to tune it to a shorter length for more power.
"oh but i hear it at 7500 and it last to 8k" smae thing- you tach isnt exact at that rpm so it opens but your tach shows it a later rpm. it lasts the saem amount of TIME(unless its sticking) but the amount of rpm varies depending on how fast you are accelerating
havent seen 1 rx-8 since 2003 that had any actual engine issues within the first 1000 miles.
this person doesnt have aproblem except for not understanding his new car.

lack of an engine break-in could very well be the case. Lets hope not though, cause that means it won't be a cheap fix. Also as a bonus, it's not proven but some people say that engines which aren't broke in properly sustain worse gas mileage.
How long you been revving your NEW car over 6.5K? From what i've heard, running over even 4-6K until 1500-2000 miles isn't recommended...

The first time the dealer took the car with me for a test drive since I couldn't drive a stick then and he drove it very hard to show me what the car is capable of doing. Esp when trying to show me how the DSC works

if its the sdais its not an issue to be fixed as there is nothing wrong.. people often dont notice it at first. they are too busy with the myriad of otehr things there is to watch and see in their new car. and depending on windows open or closed etc. i dont "hear " the 3750 opening all the time- im just paying atrtention to it.

I've heard the 3750-ish one before although I don't generally notice it. I know that doesn't mean it doesn't happen. I just usually have my radio on or some other something that makes noise such as the AC so that I don't hear it. It's not a really loud sound, either, just kind of a light clicking sound.

naah trust me this noise is easily noticable and I am very particular abt the noises that come from my car. This noise wasn't there before thats why its bothering me...anyways let the dealer handle it and I'll take it from there
So you say SDAIS is the diff ports opening at diff RPMS? if so where are the ports located and is it something that can be seen in the engine bay?
Also you have the link/file with the authentic marbles in a blender sound?

no one has ever provided a usable sound file with a verified "marbles in a can" problem. ther was one posted in the marbles in a blender thread but i literally can not hear anything amiss. it all happens inside the intake manifold. you can not see anything but if you rea the s-dais thread there is a diagram

i am new to this site. i jus got my 2006 GT "8" at the end of April. It has about 5000km. it makes a slight clicking noise, not constant but it's there. It's annoying. I've brought it in to the dealership once but, then noise stops. I'm trying to monitor it, to know when it clicks but it's random.

I have a high pitch squeeling noise comming from my car 3600 miles that just started last week Between 2250 and 3000 RPM in all six gears and it only happens when I press on the gas. It sounds like the very old VW Bugs. Does anyone else have this noise? I am taking to the dealer tomorrow to have them look at it.

Unhooked, is it very loud or is it quiet. Would you be able to hear it if you had the radio on?
Does it sound like a high-pitched and high-frequency krrrrrrrrr or a rattle?

Lets see, after dozens of threads and several dozen people experiencing the "same" issue, my guess would be...........IT IS NORMAL!!!!!!! OPERATING AS DESIGNED!!!!!! NO FAULT FOUND!!!!!!! CHARACTERISTIC OF THE VEHICLE!!!!!!!!! Sorry....
