Cut Engine at 3000RPM - Helps Something?
I'd like to verify that something I do in my 8 is, in fact, useful. This may or may not be related to flooding. I searched on 'gun engine' and have not seen this particular one.
When I am about to turn off my engine, I "gun" the engine slightly and turn the key off when it is at about 3000 RPM.
Does this help to clear the so called chamber?
I live in Arizona where we don't have too much in the way of cold temps so flooding may simply not be a risk here.
Thanks ...

He's as bad as Can
You really only need to do that when turning off a COLD engine. I have over 77,000 and never flooded and only do the 3,000 RPM thing when the engine is cold.

When the car is warm it is largely up to the individual whether they want to spin the engine above 3K and shut it off as it's revving down.
I did it at first then stopped. However, the warranty flash and changes has made my car fire up a tad bit slower at times then before so I'm going to start doing it again just in case.

Should you hold at 3k, let off, while revs drop kill ignition? Or, wait until engine reaches idle? I heard from a buddy that has 200k mi. + on rotaries say that it's not good to cut ignition while revs are still up? Is this true?
