customer service and engine replacememt?

I was wondering those of you have had engine replacements how was your customer servicer when you had your engine replaced.

My experience's with getting a replaced engine is ok but not that great in customer service.
1. Got my car back with the car on Empty.. Didnt want to compensate for gas used
2. Got car back home then look in the engine missing a/c belt
3. coolant is super low
4. now i have to take the car back in = more time and gas wasted.

Should i take the car back and ask them to give me some gas for having to drive all the way back to the dealership for a belt the didn't put on

I am in the middle of getting my engine replaced, so I will be checking everything out when I get it back. I know what you mean about wasting gas, I live about an hour away from the dealership so it is kind of a big deal just getting it there when something goes wrong. You should tell them to fill your car up with gas since it is their fault that you are having to bring it back. But then again, its hard to get people to take responsibility for their own mistakes these days.

I understand what you are saying about the actual issues with your car, but....

Would you rather they didn't test drive your vehicel to ensure that it's ok?

Your complaints seem petty to me, and i doubt you are going to get more response then an underhanded laugh....

That said, a missing AC belt is pretty ridiculous...

Though it is funny how quickly people want other people fired when I'm certain they make similar mistakes on a daily basis at their jobs. Peopel seem to forget that dealerships are filled with people that are there to support their family, jsut like everywhere else.

yea missing an a/c belt may seem petty but when you pay almost 35k for a car and you have to go some where in 115 degree heat that **** just aint cool in phoenix az. We it be petty for buying a BMW and having them forget to put something back would it be petty?? At the same time i wouldnt even care if the weather was 70 degrees i wouldn't complain one bit. But it like having my car for a month then having to travel all the way back to the dealership that isn't close to me get me.

You never said where in Phoenix you had this work done. It would help other people in the same situation.
As far as competent dealers in the Phoenix metro area,, there are two that I would recommend. #1 Berge Mazda in Gilbert and #2 Biddulph Mazda in Glendale.

Haha yeah my dealer sent me a letter last week telling me about a survey I would be receiving from mazda in regards to the customer service at my dealership. They said "if there is anything that would make you rate us anything less than excellent please give us a call immediately" and I almost did because I took my car in one day when my sun visor came in and they said they didn't have the time to put the new one on, despite being open for another 4 hours. Wouldn't have been a big deal if I was right down the road, but I'm 50 miles from my dealer...

I don't think its petty at all. Forgetting to fill the car up with coolant after they just replaced an engine, thats pretty major to me. What if he didn't check it when he got home, and the next day he loses the engine to overheating??? And an a/c belt, its fairly easy to notice that. Thats not an everyday mistake, thats being careless. If I screwed up like that at my job on a daily basis, I wouldn't be working there for long.

Re low coolant: be sure that you're referencing the "full" line inscribed (low) on the overflow container. The container iteslf should not actually be full. I know this may sound obvious, but...
