If one does go for an aftermarket sunroof, they have to get an outside sliding one like the stock, b/c that seems to be the only way to protect the cross member between the b pillars.

Amazing. Thanks for posting those pic's bro. It's funny how many comments I got when considering adding a aftermarket sunroof. Looks like yours was professionally installed. And $750 is a bargain!

I would also make sure they used the same material for the sunscreen. I would want it to match the light gray weave.

Well you can get an "aftermarket" sunroof made but the response I was replying to is 9krpmrx8's post.

For them to add a sunroof that goes into the roof, they'd either have to cut the virtual b-pillars "OR" make it thicker so it clears the b-pillars completely which would give you even less headroom.

For the aftermarket sunroofs that slide up like the OEM rx-8 sunroof, it's just a matter of going to a seasoned aftermarket sunroof install company that CAN install it correctly so you won't have those wooshing or whatever the past posters said sounds/rattles. Those don't compromise the integrity of the car since it opens in an upward angle clearing the car frame.

impressive install for $750, 9K. As long as the B-pillars are still intact, it looks somewhat solid.

i'd be more interested in making a base/sport 8 into a T-top.

loved that my 8 came with a sunroof.. its one of the options I insisted on having before I made my purchase

requirements before I bought:
6 sp MT
sunroof
WB
nonsmoking previous owner
a Brittany Snow in the passenger seat

unfortunately I got all the above I wanted in the car I bought..

guess I will have to deal with the previous owner being a smoker. :P

I actually wanted a sunroof too but for the price, I couldn't debate. Plus, it's an 07..

Still doubtful in a aftermarket sunroof..

i've always wanted a t-top. doesn't sound like it's possible with our car, and the door frames themselves would have to be cut. anyway, it would be awesome...
