I'm guessing you drive where the roads are salted. The salt plus the heat of the exhaust really accelerates corrosion of the metal. Other than using some metal polish on 'em to remove the rust and then giving them a good coat of wax (which will probably vaporize away as soon as the pipes get hot again) I don't know what to suggest. If the finish is really flaking off I'd take it to the dealer and complain... this might be a warranty issue.

I agree with having the dealer check them out Cruz... you and I are driving the same crappy salty roads and my exhaust tips are fine. Try some good chrome/stainless steel polish on them and see if they clean up... if they surface material is really flaking off that should be a warranty issue.

If you want to paint them, I would think that exhaust manifold paint would work, but the look won't be anything like stock metal finish. My exhaust ends are also horrifyingly dirty, but I haven't seen any rust. Of course that's probably because it is covered by dirt. Best of luck.

Yup, good idea. I have yet to see any rust, although they do use Magnesium Chloride on the roads here in Colorado, rather than salt.
