just wondering if anyone else has noticed the clutch pressure get harder as time passes? I received a few recall notices in the mail recently ( front lower Arm ball joint & Fuel Tank recall), and while I have the car in there, I might have them check it out....when I sat in an 8 in the showroom, I depressed the clutch and it felt easier to put to the floor? Mine has got much harder,and requires more pressure.....any thoughts?

 

Yes, they get harder as they ware. Then poof they're gone.

Don't worry about it you'll have plenty of time before it's broke.

 

Mine has been stiff since day 1 with 6 miles on it. When I drove my boys the clutch was so easy to press down. Like it wasn't even the slightest bit of stiffness what so ever. What does everyone's feel like? Is there any stiffness to it?

 

Perhaps someone is slipping the Viagra into your transmission fluid.

When I bought my car, I don't recall any stiffness. But about two weeks ago, I attempted to get a personal 0-60 time...just after that, I felt some stiffness, which in turn kind of scared me. Then, just a few days ago, I found myself in a...competitive dilemma at a red light, shall we say. When it went green, I stepped on it. Right after that, I noticed the stiffness was gone. Magic?

 

I'd be concerned if the clutch is stiff. I had the same problem since I bought mine new with 20 miles on it. I drove my friend's brand new 8 a few weeks lower and his clutch was easier to press and had a lower friction point. I didnt think much of it at that time. at 5000 miles, my clutch disc exploded while cruising in 5th at 60 miles an hour. PLease see the Clutch broken thread in tech forum. Mazda covered the new clutch under warrenty...and try to blame me, but I wont believe it for a second. I drive this car like a grany 95% of the time. THeres something faulty with these clutches from the factory.

 

My clutch is not stiff at all. almost 40k later it feels the exact same.

 

My clutch is a little stiff as while it has been since day one. I drove my ex-girlfreinds 8 and it felt a lot lighter. I think the feel of a clutch is different on each car. If it doesn't get any worse I wouldn't worry about it

 

my cluch makes sound sometimes when the temperature is hot. every time i stepped on it, it makes rubbing sound of rubber or something.
