Clutch Pedal Assembly Warranty!!!!!
Keep in mind they just issued it. I got my car back 2 weeks ago and while they were installing the engine I had a 2 week debate with them and Mazda Headquarters about how it's said that they have a warranty out on it. FINALLY, they told me. MY clutch only had 39,000 miles on it when it went out.
people are reporting that they are receiving notices from Mazda.
I looked under the owners section of Mazda's site today and didn't see any mention of it in there after logging in.
Maybe I'll get something in the mail?
(never got the last recall / warranty extension notice so who knows)

I just got one in the mail today for the wife's car (probably only because she took it in for an oil change while I was gone so they have the VIN in my name). Basically it says that if it breaks it is covered for the time period specified, and if yours broke previously and you bought a new one then you are entitled to reimbursement.
Copy of Clutch Pedal SSP
I scanned a copy of my letter and reimbursement form here:
RX8 SSP 82
Basically all cars from April 10, 2003 - September 13, 2008 have the clutch pedal assembly warranty extended to 8 years, 100,000 miles. If you have already had the clutch pedal replaced, then you are eligible for a reimbursement (no mileage requirement listed for reimbursement).
I wonder if they will reimburse for the RaceRoots clutch pedal reinforcement? Or if I can claim the clutch pedal broke and wrecked my transmission?

Just got my letter today! Thing is, mines squeaks here and there, NOT ALL THE TIME. So I wonder if that will be good enough for them to replace it. I have about 94k miles, so I'm hoping they can just get it done with...

I don't see why they wouldn't. Take it in and tell them that you had to do you own fix but want a new one. Also explain to them how the parts guy gets to sell a part, and the mechanic gets labor all at mazdas expense.
Just got my letter from Mazda in the mail today! I was one of the people who had to pay to have the damn thing fixed and come to think the dealership who fixed it says it wasn't under warranty.... The clutch pedal should never snap! That's like the gas or brake pedal snapping for no reason!
I actually had someone from the State Highway Administration contact me a while back about this because I complained! Well at least Mazda is offering to pay back if you have the invoice, which I do! LOL
Hope anyone else who had it done not under warranty kept their invoice!

Got mine yesterday. My pedal squeaks occasionally; sometimes it's more of a creak. and there is the random rare missed shift (although my codriver at this week's autoX missed the 1-2 twice), where it seems like the clutch did not totally disengage, even through the pedal is down.
From reading the letter, I didn't get the impression it had to actually be broken. if you have the symptoms that it's starting to go or is weakening, that should be enough for the tech to verify the issue.
