Click once no beep... twice hear the HORN?
Whats this about locking the car with one button click and it locks with no sound.. with the second press you hear a beep!? I dont get that on mine and the dealer said none of them do... crying.
A river of tears.

There are differences like that between the US cars and cars exported to other markets, but mine didn't work until I realized you can't do the button pushes too close to each other. The manual says they have to be within like 20 seconds of each other, so I was going "pushpush" instead of pushing the button, waiting for the doors to finish locking, and pushing again.
Unless this is a troll...in which case I'd prefer to be batter dipped, fried along with some chips, and served next to a pint of Guiness, please?

Take the dealer dude to your car. Tell him to insert head with one ear into the grill of the RX-8. Push lock button, wait a few seconds after you hear the doors lock and press again. Instantly he will hear more than a beep!! Stand back, take pictures and enjoy. Hope he learns a lesson.

I guess the horn is there to let one know the car is locked. Lets say you are in a busy noisy section of town and you didn't hear the doors click and lock so you need the second press to let you know its armed. Other than that, yes,its a loudy.
