Thumbs down City Motors Mazda (Greensboro, NC): Worst. Dealer. Ever.

It's venting time.

Ok, first off, I tried to get some TSB's done at this dealership (Squeeling Brakes) and they wouldn't do them. Claimed they weren't valid.

Then I had a plastic end of a hose of my stock intake break and he (the Service Manager mind you...) said I needed a whole new "Air Tube". I showed it to the parts guy and he saw it and said that all I needed was the plastic part, but when the service manager pulled him to the side, he said I needed an whole new "Air Tube" as well. Fixed it with a new plastic end at Advance Auto for 4 dollars FTW.

Then, when I got my Mazdaspeed Exhaust in a few weeks ago, I called to see what the labor would be and they tried to tell me 4.5 hours! I asked them if he was making it from scratch and he said that was the book time. Installed somewhere else in 1.5 hours FTW.

Finally, I just ordered the OEM body kit + Front Guards and they DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT IT IS. I told them that it's suppose to be a dealer option and he says they've never installed them before on a car they've been selling for half a decade.

What a shitpile we have here in Greensboro. It's a shame because I love Mazda but our dealer is the most pathetic dealer I've ever known.

Be on the look out if you're in the Triad area. Go to Bob King Mazda in High Point or something.

I'm done now.

My dealer did the brake squeal TSB today. I just printed off the PDF file from Rosenthal and handed it to them. Now, they make no noise and I have to press the brake about 1/2 as far to get better braking power.

You would think Mazda was a new to the U.S.

Seriously, the dealership I bought mine from in GA, I talked to four salesmen not a damn one of them know what type of oil the RX-8 used, they had two talking points, "you have to rev the engine over 3K before you shut it off, always!" and "It uses oi, so you have to check it every other fill up". Three of them had never sold an RX-8, the last guy had sold a few and didn't know much about them, but he was a self professed wizard with the Kia (their predominant seller at the split dealership) I bought the car there for the price, that and their lead tech is a apparently a rotary fan he owns an RX-8 an apologized to me for having looted all their RX-8 merchandise the day before I bought my ride.

But the guys a some of these dealerships seem to act like Mazda's were made on Mars. Good luck finding someone who can do yoru Mazda warranty work.

19k, but mine is an '04. I have had it for over 2 years and there was no questions asked. They fixed it and claimed they replaced the pads. MUUUUCH better now.

Which dealer did you go to... Millenium Mazda?

The only reason I tried going back there a few times is that at first they did a good job with things but now they are wack sauce. I'm doing my duty and letting you all know just how bad they are.

Yet another reason why RX-8's are so popular.

Amazing that their own dealers say stuff that can only help un-sell the car to people thinking of buying one. Saying you have to rev the engine over 3K before shutting it off is simply untrue (that's ONLY for the rare instance of a trip too short for the engine to reach normal operating temperature), and saying the words "uses oil" makes it sound like the engine's poorly designed and constantly needs more oil, which is very different from the reality—that the rotary engine is actually designed to inject oil and, therefore, consumes a small amount of over time. Sheesh!

LOL Clueless

Seriously, these guys were clueless. The salesman at had a Kia advertising sign at his desk trashing the Mazda 6 crash test ratings compared to Kia's. When I called him on their apparent contempt for Mazda and lack of savvy about the vehicles, he painted it in their attempt to remain fair and objective and not hiding anything. The next day when I went back the sign was gone.

Then they turned around told me that they wanted "Very Satisfied" responses on the Mazda customer survey. The sad thing is that since I am an 8 owner my feedback, that Mazda really deserves will be discounted or completely ignored (See the RX-8 customer feedback survery thread).

Whatever, I have a car that I love, their lack of knowledge really isn't my concern.

I was recently denied the brakes TSB @ 14000 miles too. VERY soft on mine, and they didn't even offer to take a look at it...just said "it's a 12month/12K warranty on brakes. I bought my car in May 06.

Bunch of BS. Their only $60 pads. Cheap-o's.
