Does anyone actually know, through actual experience, how long it takes for the light to clear itself? WILL it clear itself?

Is there a simple way to reset the computer if not?

I know I should take it into the dealer, but if that's all it is, I'd rather not lose the car for a day or whatever.

you will not know until you pull the code..

I'm WAY too lazy. I searched here, and found and tried the "pull the room fuse" thing, and... the light went off. Drove it around the block a few times. Light still off.

I'm guessing if it comes back on, it's something more serious, and to the dealer it goes. Otherwise, probably just the gas cap like I read about.

Note to self: don't be an idiot next time and pull the room fuse AT NIGHT, using the interior lights to see by. Yes I know NOW, stop laughing at me, lol...

Had my check engine light come on so I drove down to advance auto to have them scan it and he couldnt scan the car... ??? I read up on the gas cap, tightened it just to make sure, drove for a while and later that day it shut off on a start up. I'm guessing it had to be the gas cap but why was the guy at advance getting no response from the car?
