CAT Converter problem again!! help

at 58,000 miles (june 2008) i took in my 2004 rx-8 and they replaced coils, wires, cat converter and the full exhaust system under warranty because the cat caused everything to melt. Now i'm experiencing some of the same symptoms i had back then. loss of horse power, the center console getting warm, and a strange smell almost like burning plastic.

i asked a parts Mazda rep at dealer near me a couple of days ago if this can be fixed under a converter warranty since the car is now out of warranty.(my car has 115,000 miles now btw) he said that the warranty only exists if the car were under 100,000 miles.

i thought if the converter was replaced by them...they could warranty their product 8 years or 100,000 miles of the parts life.

i've had it installed for 2 years and 57,000 miles. do i really have to pay 1,500 for this?????

thanx guys

or just get a high flow cat, or even remove the cat if its legal.
loss of power could be the engine tho, get vacuum tested.
warm center console is nothing, every rx8 does it.
plastic smell you need to get under the car see if theres plastic sticking on the cat.

I know parts warranty along is usually 1 year.
