Castrol GTX or GTX Start Up?

Does anyone here use Castrol GTX Start Up? It claims to provide additional protection at start up. That sounds pretty good, doesn't it?

So does the high mileage oil that is suppose to help worn out seals. I have that in my 240SX right now and I don't notice any differences. No smoother operation, no improved gas mileage, and no restoration of lost compression. I think these special oils really don't do anything.

I know that everyone has their own opinion on oil choices, I have used Castrol in every rotary I have ever owned. It seems not to cavitate(foam up or Mr. bubbles in oil pan) to the degree that I have seen in other brands.

I don't know, but oil is cheap. If Castrol's claims about GTX Start Up are true, it seems well worth the extra $300 or so you'll spend on oil changes over the life of the engine. If their claims are not true, you've only lost $300.

Hmmm, perhaps we can be a little more scientific. This might be an interesting reason to get a used oil analysis. I know ideally you'd want two identical cars with the same mileage driving in the same conditions. But if I got a UOA after using GTX and another after using GTX Start Up, would the results indicate whether there was any benefit from the more expensive oil?

Is there anyone in California with an MT Sport approaching 1,000 miles? I was planning to get my first oil change at 1,000 miles, and if there's another person with the same car, we could do a little experiment.
