Can you lock the car with your keys OUTSIDE of the car?
as the title says.
i've tried everything, but i can't seem to have the car lock up with the keys outside of the car.
e.g. i want to leave my car running, as i NEVER turn off the car just to turn it back on
(filling up gas)
(dropping stuff off at friends house/picking something up)
i hate leaving my car unlocked and not being able to see it, but i do it, leaving no valuables inside, and hoping no one can drive stick lol
and by the way. i have the credit card its a 2008 40th anniversary

I do it when I'm running inside a store to grab something. Just use the key itself.
I.e. Car running. Close door. Take key out. Insert in keyhole. Turn one direction or another (I'm pretty sure, turn counter clockwise to - tubing's corrected me above. Turn clock-wise.). Tada - locked!
I'm not sure if it locks both sides, but technically the passenger side could be locked while the car is running from the inside anyways.

Actually, the car will remain running without the key inside, until it runs out of gas. But if a thief turns the ignition off, it will not start again without the key.

Now the winter hazard is people who get back in their cars while filling up.
