Called Mazda this is what they have to say

so i made a thread about my clutch making a popping noise and i got reply that it is a sign that it mite break.....

I called 3 Mazda dealers today (i live in Canada BTW) they all say that is not a common issue and they haven't heard of the clutch breaking..... they said it mite be a common issue in the US because they make it different there?? is that true??

i am really pissed i don't know what to do......

Simple do a search here.

Look under the dash check for cracked or broken clutch pedal.

Buy the new part and replace.

I think it's the angle bracket that mounts the clutch pedal to the firewall. Maybe grab the clutch pedal and see if it wiggles side to side. If the spot weld did give out, it's not that expensive a fix.

I highly doubt the U.S. has a different clutch since mostly the car was assembled and built in Japan that makes no sense at all... I suggest going to www.finishlineperformance.com and finding the TSB about the unusual noise from the clutch and bring it to them.

I don't believe that there is a TSB about the breaking clutch peddle problem. I would also think the problem would be common with all left steer equipped cars.
I have seen pictures posted of the problem. Sorry, but I don't remember the name of the thread.
The problem is being investigated by the US government. If they find it to be a design problem, I'm sure that will prompt Canada to look into it also. If you have to replace the peddle on your own. Keep your receipt so when there is a recall, Mazda will reimburse you for the service.
