Burning Clutch

Why does it seem like my clutch is burning every time i reverse? I never apply throttle since its not needed bc reverse is more sensitive.

edit: http://www.standardshift.com/forum/v...hp?f=6&t=11057 doesn't seem to answer my question
http://www.clubwrx.net/forums/sti-tr...uses-burn.html

"Also, our clutches almost alway "smell" when using them in reverse. I believe it's something to do with "graining" of the clutch/flywheel surface, and when you reverse it, it removes the granularities and burns them up, thus producing the smell. I've gotten used to it."
^ is this true?

never heard of that.
the only thing is reverse gear ratio is between 1st gear and 2nd gear, which means more slipping to get it moving.
also when reversing, you tend to be slow and slip the clutch a bit more compare to driving forward cuz you cant see the back.
