Talking "The Book" Just Arrived

A few weeks back I was able to locate a used copy of the RX-8 "coffee table" book by Jack Yamaguchi. This is the same book I believe all the "pre-order" 2004 RX-8 owners were treated to (maybe even some other lucky early purchasers).

Anyway, I had wanted one for a while and just happened to find one online offered through Alibris

They specialize in out-of-print or hard-to-find books. There are several other ISBN searches you can use. Actually, all I did was do a google search on the ISBN for the book, which is 4-947659-02-5, and then I surfed around a bit from that starting point. As good a starting point as any for anyone else thinking of hunting down one of these wonderful books.

Found it, and didn't bother shopping around -- just ordered it. It was the only one they had available. It arrived today, and the price was well worth it. These books are now going for $40+ on eBay, when they're available...

It's in absolutely pristine condition -- with only very slight ruffling at the top edge of the dust jacket. Looks like it's never even been opened.

Anyway, I'm so pleased with the find, I just thought I'd share my good fortune with my online friends :D :D :D :D :D

Your dealer can order them

Have them search the M-store for # 772 9999-92-BOOK-RX8

It cost them $25.00

As always, good info from Snap-On.

Wasn't aware they were still available... the dealer I had talked with a while back told me they were out of print...

Looks like the book is more widely available than a lot of folks, including myself, had anticipated. I highly recommend it. It's a great book!

I agree- it's an execellent book on Mazda's rotary history, and of course tons of neat stuff on our RX8's. It's a must-have for any rotary enthusiast.

I am sure no one wants mine (I got that from a gift from Mazda) even I give it out for free.... since I have placed it in my toilet library... the book does make the "cogged up" days much easier :p

I think I should invest in a small TV and a DVD player (for best motoring video) at some stage.

Try talking to your dealer and have them do a parts search for the book's part number Snap-On provided above. If the book's still available, the dealer should be able to order a book for you... Either that or try searching on the ISBN like I did...

Late February I phone ordered one new from Oak Tree Mazda for $50 +shipping. It is a nice book. A good balance between pictures, history, and technical information.
