Hey guys I have been thinking of racing at the salt flats in September. Here is the web page
http://www.saltflats.com/index.html
I am going to get into the 130 MPH club this year if all goes well. Next year I want to get a cage and a few other requirements and go for the 150 club. I know the 130 will be a breeze but the 150 I am not sure if our car can break through, I think our top speed is 149 but I will give her hell trying.

What mods, if any, will you have to make to your RX8 to make an attempt at the 130 MPH club? The requirements for battery hold-down, driveline loops, metal wheel valve caps and dual throttle return springs caught my eye. Anything else? Skinny tires?
Man, wash the salt off, right away!

The loop is the only thing I might have to look into but It might not need it cause it also says ( Drive line loops are required in the front 25% of each section of drive shaft on rear-wheel cars where adequate retention and control of a broken driveline is not assured by body/frame design.)

I believe the loop on the forward part of the driveshaft is simply to prevent the car from pole vaulting if the front U-joint breaks. Without the loop, the driveshaft would dig into the ground and away you go! LOL!
