A bit pissed at my dealer

Hey guys, I just got back from my dealer and I told them about the TBS for my breaks sqeeking. The guy told me they never had a TBS for that, they better not charge me for it when I go pick up my car. My AC aint cold as well, and my moon roof started to rattle after I got the N flash, I'm sure it had nothing to do with the flash just thought it was strange when I got my car back. My car is a 2004 LY and my vin# match up with the time for the TBS. The stupid guy also told me that the sqeeking brake noise can be do to driveing fast, because some guys are speed demons, geee I hate it when these people talk to me as if I knew nothing about my car, or just any car. Should I print out the page to show this guy when I go back? He also whent to the computer in put in my Vin# and it only showed, hard starting and airbag problems. That was his way of saying nothing wrong with my brakes.

Yes, print out the page and shove it in his face. He's obviously a genius if he thinks the brakes squealing is from driving too fast.

hmmmm...

when i mentioned the brake squeal problem to my dealer they said "i never heard anyone complain about that before." i mentioned a lot of people have mentioned it and i've seen people online that suggested certain fixes for it. and the person behind the counter said "you can't believe everything you read online." :-/ but she said they'd look in on it.

got my car back, they overfilled my oil (for the second time) and my brakes still squealed though they said they sprayed them with something or the other. :O

i took my car in for the air conditioning problem too (not cold unless it's on the coldest or near the coldest settings, the halfway cold setting puts out warm to hot air) and they replaced some part but it only helped a little.

EDIT: Hey, my car fits under that VIN range. hmmmmm... i'll complain next oil change. :D

These guys are so stupid!!! I Just printed out the TBS, so they better fix it. My AC when I turn it on I only het cold air from the left, not the right side hmm I wonder what hppen there. funny thing is the guy said the same thing to me, you can't beileve everything on the internet. Sometimes these guys don't think, we know more about our cars then they do. Hell they don't even own one, well some at least.

I never expect the dealership to know about the TSBs so I go to Rosenthals and print out the ones applicable to my car as they come out. This way, they can't blame it on anything else.

Hey why should the service department of a MAZDA dealership know anything about TSB's (sarcasm).

This country is going to **** when no cares about the quality of their work/service and are only concerned about the paycheck.

Definitely print out the TSB for the brakes. If they say there isn't a TSB on squeaky brakes and they work on them, they are probably going to try to charge you for it. I don't think they like it when we learn stuff about the car online. We end up coming in asking for things to be fixed that we would normally have never known about, and their profit margin stays higher.

Make sure you have the 18" rims and larger rotors or Mazda won't pay. The TSB specifically states that the car has to 18" rims and larger rotors. My car came with the 16" rims and the smaller diameter rotors and I developed the god awful squealing brakes and my dealer talked to Mazda Corporte over the phone for an hour and they would not budge.

My last 8 had this problem, took it in, they replaced the pads AND turned the rotors which I didnt ask for. They said they do it to all 8's requiring this TSB work. Had them replace my rotors with new ones.

I had the brake TSB done for me at my 30k checkup. Brought all the TSB's with me that i printed up. Have to say the brake one was awesome. Not only do i not have squeeky brakes anymore my front rims stay clean!! Get this TSB done & you'll love it..no more snickers from neons/honda's as you squeak at stops :D

What if my vin doesn't fall into this category (just got the car this weekend) but just this morning my brakes started to squeal and yes, my rims are a tad dirty too.

When I got mine done, the VIN range was the first thing that they verified, and I could tell that if I wasn't in that range, they weren't going to touch it for free, so if you are out of the official range, you are probably out of luck. However, you are probably in the "adjustment period" and if your dealer is cool they might do it to keep you satisfied, but I don't know what the chances are of that.

Did your squeaking go away Jaguar? I just recently noticed that occasionally I get squeaking (now that it's summer and I can open my windows). I figure if it doesn't really fix the problem, I won't be in a hurry to change them out.

go complain about the squeal. have them give you a diagnosis as to why they squeal. if there is a problem it should still be covered under waranty even without a TSB. thats what a warranty is for. if they say its not covered- get a second opininion from a good brake shop. if they say the same thing pay the lowest price to get it fixed. if they say its a a bad part go back to mazda with this statement. make sure you can show it to them in writing. if they refuse get the brakes fixed and sue the dealership in small claims court. make sur eyou get the old parts as evidence.

Thanks for the advice. I'll have my hubby look at the car first since he's so good at that stuff. He's already fixed a problem I would've taken the car back to the dealer for! =)

It seems to have worked for me. The best thing though is the reduction of brake dust on my front wheels. It has been almost a month since it was done, and they still look clean. There is some dust, but probably not 1/10th the amount there would have been with the old pads.

My brakes never squealed (9000 miles) but I had the dealer do the brake TSB anyway. Also had them paint my calipers and hubs while they were at it.

Brake dust on front wheels is down about 90%. Yippee! Lots of folks here have said this and they're right. The brake TSB is worth doing (assuming your car qualifies) even if your brakes are dead silent.

Now if they could just install the new oil dipstick tube thingy right. What's so hard about that? They've done it twice yet it keeps coming out with the dipstick. The TSB says it's not supposed to.

FYI...it's TSB, not TBS....one is a technical service bulletin, the other is Turner Broadcasting Service.

well I took mine in MON -- VIN is in range and they CND (could not duplicate) -- they can't hear the squeal so they wouldn't do the TSB....I also printed out the one for the new dipstick (saying that I just wanted it -- so it would be easier to read, that's all) -- got the car back with a notation (nothing wrong with dipstick -- not replaced).....

then they said they reflashed my car (I had N before; didn't want P) but nothing in paperwork stating reflash so I doubt they even did it. This was done because I complained about the oil light coming on driving highway speeds about 90mph (around 4500RPM) and oil not low - another TSB. they said that TSB had been cancelled and the new reflash fixed the oil light issue.

At this point I think they're just nuts....

It's the dealership. If they don't want to fix never go back to them.

Well THAT explains why they can't install the dipstick tube correctly!
I've been taking my car to a f^(# -ing television network for service!
No wonder they act confused. :D
