Balky Sunroof Switches?
Anyone else having problems with the sunroof switches? I've had the car for about 7 months (10k miles). Up until the last month or so, a light touch on either switch (tilt or slide) worked. Now, I have to practically push the switch up through the roof, and it still may take several attempts to make it work.
Had the stealer look at it while the car was in for some other stuff. Got the usual "Unable to replicate customer complaint." It was too late in the day to argue with them, so I'll have to take it back again, as the problem continues.
Just curious if anyone else had the problem and what the fix was.

Maybe no one is answering because they don't have the problem? Personally, I believe there is a problem if you have to depress that hard.
Is it every time you operate the moonroof?

Either way, I'm going to try to get it back by the stealer today or tomorrow to have the problem "properly replicated." Don't know why they couldn't take my word for it the first time. Would have saved me the aggravation of a second trip.

If all else fails, take your recorder (or digital cam) and film/stream yourself in the car opening and closing the top. Take your camera with you to the dealer with it edited to a 'difficult switch' occurrence. Show them that and tell them FIX IT :D

hmm...well I don't have a sunroof on my RX8--but my Millenia S that I am tryin to sell experiences that sometimes--but it is a 1999 with 67000 so all I can say is take it to the dealer.

Only problem I found with the switch is that they're too far back making it hard to find and use them when needed. However, they're really fast for moonroofs, one of the fastest I've used.

Sounds silly, but check your fuses. I once had a random radio problem on another car, and there was a barely visible burn through on a fuse that would generally complete the circuit, but not always.
