Unhappy Bad Luck 8?

So about a month ago my car was broken into and I had to have the drivers door replaced and repainted. There are some pics on here somewhere if you wanna see them. Total cost of repairs $1300, I paid a $500 deductible.

Last week some jackass didnt have any brakes and used my car to stop his, while mine was parked at work. I havent had any work done to the car yet as I am waiting on insurance (He denies that he hit my car, even though I have a piece of paper stating he hit it, that he signed) There is some other fishy stuff too, like it wasnt his truck it was his buddies, he didnt have his liscence on him etc... A couple of estimates put the damages at around $950. I would take pictures but you can barely see anything just some scrapes on the drivers side front.

NOW>>> I noticed my air conditioning is not working, apparently a rock bounced up and put a hole in my ac condensor. I live in AZ so my ac is kinda important. Anyway, I bring it to the dealership, and Its gonna cost $750 to have it replaced!!!!

I am getting really sick of this crap. Anybody have a spare ac condensor around? Maybe someone from canada that doesnt need ac?

Also on a side note, I might have an 05 Sunlight Silver Sports package for sale in the future. only 7000miles!

What bad luck! Sorry.

Well since you have a piece of paper signed by the driver professing guilt, you are golden. However, the person seems to be fishy, you'll have to either have your insurance company deal with it or take the bastard to small claims court.

The AC condenser is notoriously unprotected from rocks. It is mentioned on here along with the oil coolers. Many people put screens over these parts.

If the dealer wants to charge you that, you may want to look for a good Mazda mechanic in Phoenix that can do the work cheaper. The dealer always overcharges. I am sure you could get it down a couple hundred bucks maybe.

Go ask/search in the West forum to see if any PHX mechanics are mentioned. Also look at RX7Club.com for a mechanic.

I think I can do the replacement myself it looks pretty straight forward, I would just have to have them recharge the unit after I replaced it

Make sure when you replace your condensor you install something like the Racing Beat AC screen http://racingbeat.com/resultset.asp?...r=screen%20set

Aww DarkBrew beat me to it...
I'm afraid we dont need it now, but we will soon... doesnt get as hot as AZ, but we have some scorching summers here..

My condolences on the bad luck...! But, in retrospect, I hear bad things come in threes, so after this, you should be done for awhile.

Just swap your 8 for one that isn't silver and you'll be fine. The silvers are cursed and (as you've found out) it's bad.

If you feel your car is bad luck, get rid of it. Seriously.

It's like gambling at the casinos. If your luck is bad, you just don't keep playing or else you will continue losing. Get up and leave.

If my car had that many problems in the first 7000 miles of ownership, I'd dump it and get another one. Sometimes it's better to be safe than sorry. Get another 8.

If your luck is good in a casino, they will give you a new deck (which changes the mathematical probabilities because of the way cards in a deck are arranged even if they haved been shuffled)

and if that doesn't work they will either fire your dealer, or check to see if you are cheating!

there is even a timing trick to some of the older slot machines....

But I will buy your car for 5 dollars and take all your back luck away...heh heh heh

If you live in a bad neighborhood and your car looks too good they will think you are rich and mess with it - a coating of mud will help- and lots of junk like jumper cables, repair manuals and empty oil cans can help interiors....

A bad neighborhood also has bad drivers (we thankfully only have 2 and I am one of them, and the other one just wrecked her trailer hitch!)...

Rocks are a preventable pain!

Not always. My other car got rear ended by an unlicensed drunk driving a pickup - he was charged DWI. It wasn't the drunks pickup though, it was owned by a friend of his at work and insured by Nationwide. The "friend" said that he didn't give the drunk permission to drive his truck. Because of that, Nationwide said the truck is not covered and refused to pay for the damage. The drunk had no money.

I called them spent 2 minutes talking to the guy on the phone. He then called the service manager at Berge Mazda. The corporate guy only wanted to pay for parts, but the service manager convinced them to pay for labor as well. I actually didnt have to try that hard.
I am so happy with mazda at this point, they offered to replace the condenser. They gave me new brake pads to replace mine that were extremely squeeky. Also they replaced my taillight that had the moisture in it.

God I hope so, I bought a silver one not knowing about the curse. I wanted a light color because I live in az and I want to be able to sit in my car in the summer! I just hope I never have to sell any body pieces, why does nobody ever want silver?
