That's only a couple pounds heavier than my Miata...

It would be one of those cars that I'd love to test drive. But for $45k, quite a bit out of my price range.

 

I have an '01 Miata SE that weighs more at 2387 lbs. This car would be fun to spend an hour with.

This had to have been one of the ST cars. I wonder how they got it so light.

 

$45k?! Not sure about that...even though it's fully loaded. lol

 

I'd love to feel how an RX-8 drives with 500 less lbs than stock.

 

You could remove a few pounds by getting rid off the passenger/rear seats, getting a nice super lightweight racing seat for yourself and carrying absolutely nothing in the trunk. Not a 500 pound saving, but it would be a 'little' lighter

 

^ The rear seats weigh about nothing. The leather GT driver's seat does weigh a lot though.

 

Since the car doesn't have a sunroof, it wouldn't have come with leather seats.
