2005 Grand Am. Speed Source Mazda RX-8 For Sale

This RX-8 was converted and lightened to run E production in SCCA and has all of the following, and more!
Lightest RX-8 around at 2300lbs
Speed Source motor; tuned and programed
Carbon-fiber front and rear (bumpers, fenders, hood, trunk)
Ron Davis radiator
Jerico clutch-less transmission 5-speed
Aluminum drive shaft
Transmission cooler and pumps
OS Giken diff
CarboTec brakes
ATL fuel cell with internal can
2 sets of light weight wheels 1-17” 1-18”
Motec with GPS dash and ECU
Light aircraft one coat paint
Lexan windshield
Carbon Sparco seat

That's only a couple pounds heavier than my Miata...

It would be one of those cars that I'd love to test drive. But for $45k, quite a bit out of my price range.

I have an '01 Miata SE that weighs more at 2387 lbs. This car would be fun to spend an hour with.

You could remove a few pounds by getting rid off the passenger/rear seats, getting a nice super lightweight racing seat for yourself and carrying absolutely nothing in the trunk. Not a 500 pound saving, but it would be a 'little' lighter

^ The rear seats weigh about nothing. The leather GT driver's seat does weigh a lot though.

Since the car doesn't have a sunroof, it wouldn't have come with leather seats.
